Core Webinar: Training Needs of Academic Library Middle Managers
91ý
CHICAGO—Join Core on Wednesday, September 28 at 1 p.m. CT for the webinar “Training Needs of Academic Library Middle Managers.” This webinar, geared towards academic library managers, deans, and directors, will discuss the training and support middle managers received when they were new to their positions as well as the training they wish they had received, based on twenty interviews with current middle managers. Two experienced academic library administrators will talk about the range of experiences these middle managers had regarding onboarding, training, and professional development and share our ideas for improving new middle managers’ experiences. They will also provide time for audience members to share their own experiences. By the end of the webinar, attendees will understand the range of opportunities their middle manager colleagues have experienced, be able to contextualize their own level of training within this continuum, and learn about what opportunities they could advocate for on behalf of themselves or managers they supervise.
