91´«Ã½

91´«Ã½ President Lessa Kanani'opua Pelayo-Lozada is pleased to announce a call for additional members to the newly expanded Office for Diversity, Literacy and Outreach Services (ODLOS) Advisory Committee. Per the Council Document #27.1 at Annual Conference 2022, the committee membership has been expanded to include additional members at-large and co-chair positions, who will serve a two-year staggered terms, in addition to representatives from identified affiliates, committees, and other groups. All interested volunteers should submit an interest no later than July 31, 2022.

For the initial appointment, 91´«Ã½ is seeking the following:

  • Three (3) committee members-at-large to serve a two-year term (2022-2024)
  • Two (2) committee members-at-large to serve a one-year term (2022-2023)
  • One (1) Co-chair selected from the above to serve a two-year term (2022-2024)

Please note that for the initial appointments, President Pelayo-Lozada will appoint individuals to begin immediately. Regular staggered, two-year membership terms (July – June) appointed by the President-elect will begin thereafter.

The Office for Diversity, Literacy and Outreach Services (ODLOS) Advisory Committee provides advice and support to the ODLOS on the areas of diversity, literacy and outreach. The Advisory Committee is comprised of member groups that represent diverse viewpoints and constituents and will provide a two way forum to communicate member needs to ODLOS and for the Office to share information with member groups. The Advisory Committee members will offer dynamic perspectives to help guide the strategic direction of ODLOS, will assess program effectiveness, encourage the exploration of new ideas and initiatives, and strengthen the growth of equity and inclusion within the 91´«Ã½ and the profession as a whole. The Advisory committee also oversees a number of subcommittees or related groups, including Diversity Research Grants Advisory Committee, Services to Refugees, Immigrants, and Displaced Persons, Spectrum Advisory Committee and EDI Assembly.

Serving on a committee provides members with leadership training, networking opportunities, and experience in working on specific association topics, and we hope you will consider volunteering. Again, all interested volunteers should submit an interest no later than July 31, 2022.
