CHICAGO – The South Carolina Association of School Librarians (SCASL) is the recipient of the 2022 American Association of School Librarians’ (AASL) Chapter of the Year Award. “SCASL members strive for excellence in their buildings and communities. SCASL encourages our members to shout from the rooftops about their amazing work,” said SCASL president-elect Tamara Cox. “We don’t sit back and watch the world change around us, we mobilize and push for the change that we know our students need.”

AASL President Jennisen Lucas said “SCASL’s commitment to the AASL’s National School Library Standards is exceptional with resources for curriculum mapping to the state evaluation system, inclusion in state award rubrics, conference session proposal application, and state training from chapter leaders.
