Announcing the 2022 Core Election Results
91´«Ã½
CHICAGO—Wendy Tressler, Director of Capital Projects and Project Management at the Columbus Metropolitan Library, has been elected President-Elect of Core: Leadership, Infrastructure, Futures. Her three-year term begins at the conclusion of the 2022 91´«Ã½ Annual Conference and ends at the conclusion of the 2025 91´«Ã½ Annual Conference. She will serve one year each as President-Elect, President and Immediate Past-President. Tressler was active in the former Library Leadership and Management (LLAMA) division of 91´«Ã½ that became part of Core, and she is now chairing the 2022 Core Forum Planning Committee.
In discussing her vision for Core, Tressler said, “I’m thrilled for the opportunity to serve Core members in this leadership role. During my term I’ll focus on strengthening our internal processes, creating unique and beneficial program offerings, and increasing our membership to ensure success for the future. Our programming will focus on both virtual and in-person programs for our members so that we have a well-balanced portfolio of offerings. Our keystone in-person program for Core will be Core Forum. I’m looking forward to the inaugural Core Forum 2022 in Salt Lake City, Utah October 13-15 and hope we have a sell-out crowd.”
Core members also elected Rachel Fleming, Scholarly Communications Librarian at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, as Core Councilor. Fleming will serve a three-year term on the 91´«Ã½ Council, from 2022-25. In addition, Core members also elected three new Directors-at-Large to the Board. Each will serve a three-year term from 2022-25. Elected are:
- Andrea Berstler, Executive Director at the Carroll County Public Library (MD)
- Lauren Corbett, Director of Resource Services at the Wake Forest University Z. Smith Reynolds Library
- And TJ Lamanna, Head of Community Engagement at the Poughkeepsie Public Library District
Overall, 33 percent of Core members voted this year, returning over 1,400 ballots. Core also thanks the members of this year’s Nominating Committee: Emily Drabinski, Chair; Jennifer B. Bowen, Charmaine Henriques and Nancy J. Weiner.
Congratulations to all five new Core Board members!
