91´«Ã½

The 91´«Ã½ has selected Mandi Goodsett as the 2022 Lois Ann Gregory-Wood (LAGW) Fellow. Goodsett will receive a stipend totaling $2,500 to off-set the cost of attending the 91´«Ã½ 2022 Annual Conference in Washington, D.C. and the 2023 LibLearnX experience in New Orleans.

Goodsett commented that she “has been involved in 91´«Ã½ since my time as a library school student, and with each passing year I feel more connected with other 91´«Ã½ members and more at home in the organization. 91´«Ã½ has provided me with valuable leadership opportunities and room to grow as a professional.”

Goodsett served as president of the 91´«Ã½ New Members Round Table (2017). She also served as a member of the 91´«Ã½ Steering Committee on Organizational Effectiveness (SCOE) representing the interests and experiences of new 91´«Ã½ members. She said the experience “made me both excited and more prepared for the future of 91´«Ã½ governance.” Goodsett is interested in discovering how organizations can become more effective, and the role of leaders in successfully guiding change. She believes that “information about how organizations work and what characteristics of leaders make them particularly effective will be valuable lessons to gain from this program and bring to my own library and professional community going forward.”

Currently, Goodsett works at the Cleveland State University (Ohio) as a Performing Arts & Humanities Librarian and OER & Copyright Advisor. She serves as an executive board member of the Academic Library Association of Ohio (Ohio ACRL Chapter). Winning the LAGW Fellowship adds to Goodsett’s long list of accomplishments. She was a recipient of the ACRL Early Career Librarian Conference Scholarship (2019 and 2017), a winner of the Ohio Open Ed Collaborative Grant (2019), recipient of the Academic Library Association of Ohio Continuing Education Grant (2018), recipient of the Cuyahoga County Recycling Container Grant for Michael Schwartz Library with Cleveland State University Sustainability Officer, Jenn McMillan (2017), recipient of the EBSCO Conference Sponsorship Award (2017), and an 91´«Ã½ Emerging Leader (2016).

Lois Ann Gregory-Wood worked at 91´«Ã½ for fifty years, and for 27 of those years, served as the 91´«Ã½ Council Secretariat. For thousands of 91´«Ã½ members, she was the face of 91´«Ã½ Council and governance. After 50 years of service to 91´«Ã½, Gregory-Wood retired in 2018. The Lois Ann Gregory-Wood Fellows Program is a mid-career conference scholarship program which celebrates Gregory-Wood’s leadership and accomplishments, as well as seeks to encourage understanding and participation in the 91´«Ã½ governance processes.
