Preconference Registration Opens for Core Forum

Even before the 2021 Core Forum officially kicks off with an evening welcome reception on Thursday, October 7, attendees can register to participate in an all-day library buildings tour or one of four afternoon workshops offered that same day. Full preconference descriptions, presenters, and registration rates can be found at .
Preconference options on Thursday, October 7, include:
- We Create Inclusive Experiences! Library Buildings Tour (8am – 4pm)
- New Connections in the RDA Toolkit (12pm – 4pm) presented by Stephen Hearn, Robert Maxwell and Kathy Glennan
- Choose Your Own Adventure Scholarly Communication Assessment Rubrics (12pm – 4pm) presented by Suzanna Conrad, Emily Chan, Daina Dickman and Nicole Lawson
- Evidence Based Practice in Libraries (12pm – 4pm) presented by Amanda Click, Claire Walker Wiley and Meggan Houlihan
- Crisis Communication/Message Dissemination for Libraries (12pm – 4pm) presented by Gregg Dodd, Christine Feldmann and Meghan McCorkell
If you have already registered for Core Forum, and would like to add a preconference to your existing Core Forum registration, please write to Core staff at core@ala.org for assistance. Advance registration for workshops is recommended. Onsite registration will be allowed pending availability.
The Core Forum is the inaugural conference for 91´«Ã½’s newest division, Core: Leadership, Infrastructure, Futures, and 91´«Ã½’s first return to in-person events. It will bring together decision-makers and practitioners from the 91´«Ã½ division that focuses on:
- Access & Equity
- Assessment
- Buildings & Operations
- Leadership & Management
- Metadata & Collections
- Technology
The program tracks, dine-arounds, and discussions will be structured around these six topics, particularly the ways in which they integrate together.
Core: Leadership, Infrastructure and Futures, is the division of the 91´«Ã½ whose mission is to cultivate and amplify the collective expertise of library workers in core functions through community building, advocacy, and learning.
