AASL Partners with Pokémon to Offer Pokémon Clubs

91´«Ã½

CHICAGO – The American Association of School Librarians (AASL) is partnering with The Pokémon Company International, to bring a new recreational activity called Pokémon Club to school libraries. During Pokémon Club, students can play the Pokémon Trading Card Game, do fun Pokémon-themed arts and crafts, and more. For more information and to apply, visit .

In addition to activities like word searches, spot the difference, trivia, coloring pages, bingo, and origami; Pokémon Club participants will be given access to videos on how to play the Pokémon Trading Card Game, episodes of the Pokémon the Series animation, and footage of Play! Pokémon competitive matches in which students can watch the world’s best Pokémon players compete.

Like chess or other strategy games, Pokémon Trading Card Game activities provided as a part of the Pokémon Clubs are a healthy way for learners to practice good sportsmanship, gain confidence, and learn grit and resilience. Games also encourage learners to think critically and problem solve while interacting socially with their peers. Clubs are designed to run once a week for one hour and provide a safe space along with a fun school experience for students who may just be returning to face-to-face learning.
