Karen Gabino Wins a Year of Free AASL Membership

91´«Ã½

CHICAGO – By sharing the wealth of AASL membership with a colleague, Karen Gabino, school librarian in Arizona, has won a free year of AASL membership. Gabino's name was drawn as a monthly winner of the American Association of School Librarians’ (AASL) Share the Wealth Campaign. By referring DaNeil Olson to AASL, Gabino has been entered to win an AASL National Conference grand prize package, which includes registration, airfare, and hotel accommodations.

When asked why she recommended AASL membership to Olson, Gabino replied: "DaNeil had just taken a new position and she asked me what I would recommend as a source for information. I said to join AASL. She would receive the association’s journal for information about trends, updated policies, and research. AASL provides information specifically about school trends and when administration asks questions, she has research that she can turn to. I told her AASL membership was a resource that was trustworthy and valuable and at a reasonable cost."

All current, personal AASL members are encouraged to invite their colleagues to join the only national professional organization focused on school librarians and the school library community. For each member recruited, the referring AASL member will receive an entry in a monthly drawing for a complimentary year of 91´«Ã½ and AASL membership. The referring AASL member will also be entered into a final drawing for an AASL National Conference grand prize package, which includes registration, three nights lodging, and roundtrip airfare to Salt Lake City, Utah, in October 2021. Multiple referrals will be accepted and will increase the member's chances to win.

To participate and earn entry into prize drawings, download the Share the Wealth membership form located on the AASL website. For complete program rules and regulations, visit .
