Creating a Successful Peer Advising Program

91´«Ã½

CHICAGO- Register today for the upcoming RUSA webinar titled "" scheduled for Wednesday, March 10, 2021.

How did one business librarian provide just-in-time instruction and consultation support to more than 90 undergraduate teams proposing unique business plans each academic year?

With the successful peer-to-peer advising program! Our peer research advisors are undergraduate business majors trained to handle initial business research consultations. Drawing on this experience, they help the business librarian maintain and improve the supporting instructional materials for this foundational course, including a course-specific Research Guide and several database tutorials. The research and consultation skills that peer research advisors develop while serving in this role are relevant to their career aspirations, making this a beneficial program for both parties.

Hearing directly from the currently serving peer research advisors, you'll be able to ask questions about how similar programs can be structured to maximize the benefits for students.

This webinar is for librarians who want to scale up instructional or consultation support to their liaison communities; and/or who are interested in mentoring undergraduates in a co-curricular capacity.

The webinar will be lead by Elizabeth Price, Librarian and Assistant Professor at James Madison University and will include Peer Research Advisors, Ashley Doyle, Josey Foreman, and Olivia Vanhoy.
