91´«Ã½ Midwinter Virtual, Jan. 22-26, offers exciting lineup of activities, speakers

CHICAGO - The 91´«Ã½ (91´«Ã½) will host its annual Midwinter Meeting in 2021, this time as an online event.

91´«Ã½ Midwinter Virtual will be held Jan. 22-26, 2021 and will include many of the established activities found at past Midwinter Meeting & Exhibits conferences, while also offering new activities and interactive features.

The five-day event will include the Symposium on the Future of Libraries, News You Can Use series, notable featured speakers, special author events, a virtual Exhibit Hall, the Youth Media Awards, the I Love My Librarian Award Ceremony, live-chat presentations, and social networking opportunities.

Confirmed featured speakers include Opening Session speakers Ibram X. Kendi, author, historian, and scholar of race and discriminatory policy in America, and Keisha N. Blain, co-author of "Four Hundred Souls."

The 91´«Ã½ President's Program speaker will be author and U.S. Poet Laureate Joy Harjo, invited by 91´«Ã½ President, Julius C. Jefferson, Jr.

Also featured will be former NFL player and new author Emmanuel Acho.
