91´«Ã½, libraries nationwide celebrate National Voter Registration Day

WASHINGTON -- The 91´«Ã½ (91´«Ã½) is recognizing September 22, 2020, as , a nonpartisan civic holiday dedicated to promoting voter registration and voter readiness. 91´«Ã½ is a Premier Partner of National Voter Registration Day, and nearly 500 libraries nationwide have signed up to participate in the event through 91´«Ã½.

“Libraries of all types are trusted hubs for civic engagement, and on National Voter Registration Day, 91´«Ã½ celebrates the many ways libraries engage voters in their communities,” said 91´«Ã½ President Julius C. Jefferson, Jr. “We also urge every library worker, volunteer and supporter to confirm that they are registered to vote.”

Libraries across the country assist voters through activities such as providing access to voter registration, informing voters about deadlines and options for voting, serving as polling places or ballot drop-off locations, and delivering civic education programs.

Voter registration deadlines vary by state and are quickly approaching in several states. Voters can register, check, or update their voter registration by contacting their or using the tools at .
