91´«Ã½ awards additional 100 Library Census Equity Fund grants

WASHINGTON — The 91´«Ã½ (91´«Ã½) announced the names of 100 additional libraries receiving of $2,000 to bolster their service to hard-to-count communities and help achieve a complete count in the 2020 Census. 

In November 2019, more than 500 libraries of all types submitted applications for Library Census Equity Fund mini-grants. 91´«Ã½ mini-grants in December 2019, an on April 9, and on April 13, based on available funding at the time. With support from Facebook, 91´«Ã½ is now awarding 100 additional mini-grants. In total, 91´«Ã½ awarded 193 Library Census Equity Fund mini-grants to libraries in 46 states and the District of Columbia, providing more than $380,000 in support.

Applications were reviewed by a selection committee established by 91´«Ã½’s : Tom Adamich, Patricia Ball, Heather Cousin, Susan Hildreth, and Cecilia Tovar.

A complete count in the 2020 Census supports fair funding for libraries, schools, healthcare, and other vital services. Residents can through September 30.
