CHICAGO – On Tuesday, March 24, the American Association of School Librarians (AASL) will host a town hall to give school library professionals the opportunity to gather as a community and discuss the impact the COVID-19 pandemic is having on schools, educators, and learners. All are welcome to participate in the AASL Town Hall: The Show Must Go On(line) beginning at 11:00 a.m. Central. Visit at the time of the meeting to join the discussion. Registration is not required.

“This last week has seen most of us in the United States move from thinking about coronavirus as an abstract topic and contemplating ‘what would happen if’ to being personally impacted through school closings and other uncertainties,” said AASL President Mary Keeling. “The importance of community during unprecedented times cannot be overstated. Please join AASL leadership, AASL staff, and your peers for a discussion on best practices as we switch the delivery of our learning. We’ll also explore managing our own stress and anxiety, as well as our learners’, as we watch the situation evolve. I have seen so many amazing and creative solutions shared by educators across social media platforms to benefit the learners and families we serve. This is an extraordinary time, and we are seeing extraordinary responses from you.”
