PLA opens registration for 2020 Virtual Conference

CHICAGO — The Public Library Association (PLA) is offering an alternative opportunity for public library workers who are unable to attend the PLA 2020 Conference in Nashville, Tenn. PLA will present a condensed, live, online conference experience—the — February 27-28. The PLA Virtual Conference will consist of live programming, including five 60-minute-long programs each day, plus author interviews and opportunities for networking. Programs are chosen from among the highest rated in PLA’s session preference survey.
The PLA 2020 Virtual Conference will include the following programs*:
- Leading from the Middle
- Part Playground, Part Laboratory: Building New Ideas at Your Library
- Bringing Technology and Arts Programming to Senior Adults
- Going Fearlessly Fine-Free
- Decreasing Barriers to Library Use
- Creating a Diverse, Patron-Driven Collection
- Intentional Inclusion: Disrupting Middle-Class Bias in Library Programming
- Programming for All Abilities
- Training Staff to Serve Patrons Experiencing Homelessness in the Suburbs
- We're All Tech. Librarians Now
Individual and group registration options are available. Individual registration is $275 for PLA and Tennessee Library Association personal members, $330 for 91´«Ã½ personal members, $150 for full-time library school students and $385 for nonmembers. For $630, groups** may host the virtual conference for multiple attendees gathered in a single location. All registrants will have access to the Virtual Conference programming for one year after the event. to learn more and register for the PLA 2020 Virtual Conference. Offered biennially, the PLA Conference is the premier event for public libraries, drawing thousands of librarians, library support staff, trustees, friends and library vendors from across the country and around the world.
