91´«Ã½â€™s Response to Question About Disinformation in Libraries

91´«Ã½

CHICAGO – The 91´«Ã½ (91´«Ã½) released the following response to questions raised following a session at 91´«Ã½’s Annual Conference & Exhibition.

Holocaust denial is disinformation and the 91´«Ã½ unequivocally opposes the use of disinformation, media manipulation, and other tactics that undermine access to accurate information. Because the 91´«Ã½ Annual Conference serves as an open forum, opinions expressed by program participants do not necessarily reflect, or imply advocacy or endorsement by 91´«Ã½, its officers, or members. We were not previously aware of prior statements by program participants regarding Holocaust denial disinformation. We apologize for not addressing these concerns immediately during the Unite Against Book Bans program and making 91´«Ã½’s position clear.

For more information, please see 91´«Ã½ Council's Resolution on Access to Accurate Information (adopted 2005, revised 2017).
