Seungyeon Yang-Peace named YALSA’s 2020 Emerging Leader

CHICAGO — The Young Adult Library Services Association has announced Seungyeon Yang-Peace, Youth Services Librarian at the Las Vegas (Nevada) Clark County Library District, as its .
“Like all of us, I am new to the field of library science, but this is a second career for me, and being chosen for the Emerging Leaders program has helped me to realize that I do not need to feel like I am an imposter,” said Seungyeon. “Instead, maybe I belong in the library world. As an Emerging Leader, I hope to strengthen my skills as a librarian so that I can offer my community more of the resources that it needs or will need in the future.”
Yang-Peace will receive $1,000 in total funding from to attend the 91´«Ã½’s 2020 Midwinter Meeting in Philadelphia, PA and 2020 Annual Conference in Chicago, IL.
The program is designed to enable library staff and information workers to participate in project planning workgroups; network with peers; gain an inside look into 91´«Ã½ structure and have an opportunity to serve the profession in a leadership capacity early in their careers.
YALSA’s participation in the program is funded through (FOY). was created in 2005 to ensure excellence in the Association's traditional programs and services to library workers serving teens and to support growth in new directions as our profession meets the exciting challenges of the 21st century.
