A deep dive into AASL’s Shared Foundation of Inquire

CHICAGO — Published by the American Association of School Librarians (AASL) and 91´«Ã½ Editions, Lori E. Donovan’s book “” explores how inquiry process models and questioning protocols can be used and modified to develop curious and reflective lifelong learners and problem solvers while simultaneously fostering a school-wide inquiry culture. By studying Inquire through the Domains, readers of this volume of will see how the Competencies and Alignments support and demonstrate learner growth in the inquiry process and can reflect on their practices in a variety of K-12 settings.   • theoretical discussion of the research framing Inquire and strategies for cultivating inquiry cultures that extend beyond the school library;

Donovan is a National Board Certified Librarian and is the K-12 Library Services Specialist for Chesterfield County Public Schools, VA. She has published several articles in Library Media Connection, is a columnist for School Library Connection, and co-authored the book “Power Researchers: Transforming Student Library Aides into Action Learners.” She has served on many AASL committees and elected offices, including AASL Affiliate Assembly Chair, AASL Supervisors’ Section Chair, Member Liaison for AASL’s 91´«Ã½ Emerging Leaders 2017, Chair of the AASL OER Implementation Task Force, and as VAASL Past President.
