The season of giving is here and the Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC) has an incredible opportunity to double its impact. An anonymous donor is matching gifts made to ALSC’s Annual Fund through Giving Tuesday, December 3, 2019. Donations are tax-deductible and gifts from an individual donor, up to $1,000, are eligible. Donations will be matched from now until the end of Giving Tuesday and the match caps at $10,000. Donations made to the Friends of ALSC and the ALSC Frederic G. Melcher Scholarship Fund will be matched. Donors can participate either online at or by sending a check to ALSC and inserting “ALSC Matching Gift Fund” in the memo field.
"ALSC members are recognized experts in every sized community in ensuring children and their caregivers receive the very best information, assistance and support they need to fulfill their potential," says ALSC President, Cecilia P. McGowan, "Please join me in helping ALSC expand and solidify our impact in communities across the nation."
ALSC is asking its members, advocates, friends, and the public to consider making a gift this season to support its mission of assisting members in engaging communities to build healthy, successful futures for all children. Donors who give to ALSC this season will help advance the Association in the areas of Diversity and Inclusion, Advocacy, and Learning and Development, all of which are ALSC’s Strategic Action objectives.
ALSC advocates can also make a difference by sharing their reasons for supporting through use of ALSC’s Giving Tuesday Social Media Toolkit at using hashtags #giveALSC and #GivingTuesday. Donors can visit: to learn more about why and how they can contribute to ALSC to help maximize this opportunity.
