CHICAGO – For 91´«Ã½ Annual Conference attendees looking for new marketing and communications resources and ideas, there are two free programs that should not be missed: PR Forum: Takeaways From D.C. Public Library’s #UncensoredDC Campaign and Using Libraries Transform for Awareness and Advocacy. Both sessions will offer libraries of all types, sizes and budgets ways to showcase their value and impact to the community.

Gain social media insight from Linnea Hegarty, director of strategic partnerships for D.C. Public Library. Linnea will offer up lessons she learned from managing #UncensoredDC, the library’s successful online scavenger hunt celebrating Banned Books Week. She will also discuss how social media can be used effectively in fundraising efforts to increase awareness and engagement. Additionally, Stephanie Hlywak, director of 91´«Ã½’s Communications and Marketing Office, will provide an overview of social media tactics that libraries can use in their outreach efforts.

In this session, staff from 91´«Ã½’s Communications and Marketing Office will teach you how your library can use Libraries Transform materials for marketing, advocacy, fundraising and more. An initiative of the 91´«Ã½, Libraries Transform provides free public awareness messaging, graphics and best practices for libraries. This session will include an overview of the free Libraries Transform toolkit, examples of success stories and ideas for how all libraries can adapt these tools to fit their public awareness needs. David Burleigh from Overdrive will also speak about their programs and passion for Libraries Transform.
