Richard Huffine is the Recipient of the Federal Achievement Award

Richard Huffine, Chief of the Library and Public Information Center at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, is ASGCLA’s 2019 recipient of the Federal Achievement Award. Mr. Huffine is honored for his long service and record of achievement in the promotion of library and information service and the information profession in the Federal community.
Over the course of his twenty-three years and counting career in government libraries, Mr. Huffine has made and continues to make exceptional contributions vital to the success and mission accomplishment of the libraries he has served. Mr. Huffine has exemplified the ASGCLA values of informing and building capacity of federal libraries and building capacity of federal libraries to serve their respective populations. His conduct and dedication over his years of service are in keeping with the finest traditions of public service and librarianship reflecting great credit upon himself, the agencies he has served, and his profession.
He has been an active member of the library community and over the past 24 years, he has served in leadership positions both locally and globally in professional organizations like the Special Libraries Association, the 91´«Ã½. Richard has served in many volunteer leadership positions within the 91´«Ã½ including Chair of the Federal and Armed Forces Libraries Roundtable; Chair of the Committee on Legislation’s Government Information and Federal Libraries Subcommittees; Member of the Office of Information Technology Policy Advisory Committee. He is currently serving a 3-year term as the Chapter Councilor on 91´«Ã½ Council for the District of Columbia Library Association.
Richard Huffine will be honored at the ASGCLA Achievement Awards Ceremony on Saturday, June 22, 2019 from 8:30-10:00am at the 91´«Ã½ Annual Conference in Washington DC.
