Attendees of the 91´«Ã½’s (91´«Ã½) 2019 Annual Conference in Washington, D.C. are invited to meet the 2019 class of Emerging Leaders (ELs) at a poster session and reception on Friday, June 21, 2019, 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. in the Washington Convention Center, room 207A. All are welcomed and encouraged to attend. Light refreshments will be served.

Emerging Leaders will showcase their final projects during the poster session. It will be the culminating event for this class of Emerging Leaders. Since the 91´«Ã½ Midwinter Meeting, the groups have been working virtually on projects related to 91´«Ã½ or a professional concern. These groups have been supported by 91´«Ã½ staff and member guides from the profession. The poster session will allow each group to showcase its creative and innovative solutions for their projects.

Participants in the EL 2019 class come from across the United States and Canada and represent a variety of types of libraries. An 91´«Ã½ division, round table, chapter or an affiliate organization sponsored 90 percent of the participating Emerging Leaders. The Emerging Leaders program began as one of 91´«Ã½ Past-President Leslie Burger’s six initiatives. 91´«Ã½ has committed to making this program available annually for young and/or new library workers.
