91´«Ã½, Library Copyright Alliance Applaud Appointment of Karyn A. Temple as Register of Copyrights

91´«Ã½

WASHINGTON - The 91´«Ã½, a member of the Library Copyright Alliance, congratulates Karyn Temple on her appointment to Register of Copyrights by Dr. Carla Hayden, Librarian of Congress. In her more than two-year tenure as Acting Register, Temple has been open-minded and even-handed during a period of dramatic change at the U.S. Copyright Office and the Library of Congress.

Register Temple’s collaboration with the Library of Congress on modernization efforts for the U.S. Copyright Office are commendable. Under her leadership, the Office is transforming into a user-centered enterprise that will serve all stakeholders in the copyright ecosystem by streamlining processes, including the digitization of copyright registrations and renewal records that will be searchable, secure, authoritative and easy to access.

Register Temple has provided a vision for the Office as a digitally sophisticated agency that meets the needs of authors, creators, and the publishing and entertainment industries as well as the needs of the public to find and locate rights holders and determine the copyright status of works.

The Library Copyright Alliance looks forward to our continued work with Register Temple and wishes her success in her new position.
