CHICAGO — The American Association of School Librarians (AASL) invites proposals for a new strand of sessions added to its 2019 National Conference & Exhibition taking place Nov. 14-16, 2019, in Louisville, Kentucky. The AASL Educators of School Librarians Section (ESLS) will offer concurrent sessions focused on bringing current research from the field into the practice setting. Proposals are due by 12:00 p.m. (noon) Central on May 6, 2019. More information on content and criteria can be found on the .

“I am so excited about the new ‘Research into Practice’ strand at the AASL National Conference,” said AASL President Kathryn Roots Lewis. “This session strand will inform best practice in school librarianship by bringing the latest research findings to us as practitioners. Well-crafted research is critical to evolving our roles as leaders who transform teaching and learning for all learners.”

AASL is requesting proposals for 60-minute sessions that present original research to be presented on Nov. 15 or 16. If researchers would like to present multiple papers or research that cover a related topic or theme, researchers are asked to combine and submit a single session proposal. Research that has been presented or published previously is permitted. Doctoral and master’s researchers are encouraged to apply.

Seven “Research into Practice” session proposals will be selected for presentation. Submissions will be accepted via . Email, mail or fax submissions will not be accepted.
