CHICAGO – The American Association of School Librarians (AASL) is now accepting proposals for the best practice showcase to be held Sat., Nov. 16, during the 2019 AASL National Conference & Exhibition. More information on presentation requirements can be found at .

"I think the IdeaLab is a great learning opportunity during our national conference," said Alice Bryant, national conference committee co-chair. "It provides attendees with an opportunity to share their expertise in a casual, collaborative atmosphere. Ideas can run the gamut from simple tricks of the trade to more elaborate presentations which give a snapshot of a successful activity for students."

Presenters are required to prepare an electronic presentation with eye-appealing visuals along with a short presentation for visiting attendees. A take-away in the form of a handout is encouraged.

"It reminds me of speed dating! Think of seeing twenty-five different gems in a span of a couple of hours," explained Bryant. "The stroll and learn format gives attendees a chance to focus on what is important to their specific practice."

Submissions will be accepted via . Email, mail or fax submissions will not be accepted. Completed proposals must be submitted by 12:00 p.m. CT on Mon., March 18, 2019, to be considered.
