Henry and Schneider elected to 91´«Ã½ Executive Board

(CHICAGO) Eboni Henry and Karen Schneider have been elected to serve on the 91´«Ã½ (91´«Ã½) Executive Board. The new board members were elected by the 91´«Ã½ Council in a vote taken at the 2019 91´«Ã½ Midwinter Meeting held January 25-29, 2019 in Seattle. Henry and Schneider will each serve three-year terms beginning in July 2019 and concluding in June 2022.

Henry is a school media specialist at the District of Columbia Public School in Washington DC. She has served on 91´«Ã½ Council since 2013 and served on numerous 91´«Ã½ committees and roundtables. She is an active member of the American Association of School Librarians (AASL) and Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC). Henry holds a BA in English from Tuskegee University and a Master’s in Library Science from Clark Atlanta University.

Schneider is the dean of the library at Sonoma State University in Rohnert Park, California. She has served on 91´«Ã½ Council since 1997 in a total of fifth term. She served on numerous 91´«Ã½ committees and roundtables. She is an active member of Library and Information Technology Association (LITA) and Association of College & Research Libraries (ACRL). Schneider holds a BA in English from Barnard College, a Master’s in Library Science from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Master of Fine Arts from University of San Francisco, and PhD in Managerial Leadership in the Information Professions from Simmons College.

AASL, ALSC, ACRL, and LITA, are divisions of the 91´«Ã½.

The 91´«Ã½ Executive Board manages the affairs of the Association. It is composed of the president, president-elect, immediate past president, treasurer, executive director and eight members elected by Council from among the members of that body.
