CHICAGO – By sharing the wealth of AASL membership with a colleague, Heather Babb has won a free year of AASL membership. Babb's name was drawn as a monthly winner of the American Association of School Librarians’ (AASL) Share the Wealth Campaign. By referring Dawn Harman to AASL, Babb has also been entered to win an AASL National Conference & Exhibition grand prize package, which includes registration, airfare, and hotel accommodations.

When asked why she recommended AASL membership to her colleague, Babb, media center director for Washington High School replied: "I recommended AASL to my peer, Dawn, for multiple reasons: One, so that she and I could discuss together all the amazing research and ideas shared by AASL in their publication, "Knowledge Quest." Two, so that she can learn from and be inspired by a professional, intelligent, and wildly creative community of school librarians as I have been. And three, to bring attention to an invaluable resource that provides guidance, structure, and affirmation to a vital position in education."

All current, personal AASL members are encouraged to reach out to their colleagues and invite them to join the only national professional organization focused on school librarians and the school library community. For each member recruited, the referring AASL member will receive an entry in a monthly drawing for a complimentary year of 91´«Ã½ and AASL membership. Their name will also be entered into a final grand prize drawing for an AASL National Conference & Exhibition package, which includes registration, three nights lodging, and roundtrip airfare to Louisville, Kentucky, in November 2019. Multiple referrals will be accepted and will increase their chances to win.
