Wilson named member manager of YALSAblog

CHICAGO — The Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) has selected Tess Wilson, Outreach Librarian at the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh (Pennsylvania), as the new member manager of the .

“I'm honored and humbled to take on this new aspect of my YALSA work, and to continue building on this enriching and supportive virtual environment,” said Wilson. “As someone with a multi-disciplinary background, I especially look forward to reaching beyond the library for expertise and providing a platform for a wide range of voices. This year, we'll take a look at youth services through different lenses, and understand the places where our work intersects and the many ways we can learn from each other.”

Wilson will start her one-year term on January 28.

The mission of the is to provide a virtual space for publishing timely information about emerging and new practices for library services for and with teens, to explore practices in related fields relevant to teen services, to raise awareness about appropriate YALSA tools to facilitate innovation in teen services, and to provide resources for members and the library community to support their efforts to continuously improve their overall teen services program. The YALSAblog also complements the quarterly journal, by providing more time sensitive information.
