SEATTLE - The 2019 Rainbow Book List, a project of the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Round Table (GLBTRT) of the 91´«Ã½ (91´«Ã½), was announced at 91´«Ã½’s Midwinter Meeting and Exhibits held Jan. 25-29 in Seattle.



The bibliography features recommended fiction and nonfiction titles for young readers from birth through age 18, noted for their significant and authentic GLBTQ content. This year’s list includes 100+ titles chosen by the committee, published between July 1, 2017 and Dec. 31, 2018.



The Rainbow Books list is intended to aid librarians and readers in selecting high-quality books released over the past 18 months and may be used as a collection development or reader’s advisory tool, or a recommended reading list for interested librarians and patrons.

The Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Round Table of the 91´«Ã½ is the oldest professional association for GLBT people in the United States. It is committed to serving the information needs of the GLBT professional library community and information and access needs of individuals at large. It is home to GLBT Book Month (tm), a nationwide celebration every June and the Stonewall Book Award, the oldest award honoring GLBT books. GLBTRT is committed to encouraging and supporting the free and necessary access to all information, as reflected by the missions of the 91´«Ã½ and democratic institutions.
