2019 Google Policy Fellowship applications now open

The 91´«Ã½ announces the opening of the application process for the prestigious program.



For the summer of 2019, the selected fellow will spend 10 weeks in residence at the 91´«Ã½ policy office in Washington, D.C., learning about national policy and its impacts on the library and information science field and completing a major research project. 91´«Ã½’s Google Policy Fellow will work closely with 91´«Ã½ staff to explore, alongside all of the Google Fellow cohort, diverse areas of information policy, ranging from digital copyright, net neutrality, digital divide, and other broadband policy, to open access to information, privacy, and freedom of expression. The Washington Office was a founding participant of the program in 2008.

91´«Ã½ and the 2019 Fellow will cooperatively determine the portfolio and agenda. Google provides the $7,500 stipend for the summer. The 2019 program will run from early June through August, with regular programming throughout the summer. Google’s Washington office provides educational opportunities for fellows, including lunchtime panels and interactions with Google staff.
