Rachel Murdock Named a 2019 LITA Emerging Leader

The Library and Information Technology Association is proud to announce that Rachel Murdock has been selected as a 2019 LITA Emerging Leader.

Murdock is the Innovative Librarian at Hedberg Public Library in Janesville, Wisconsin. At HPL she handles emerging technologies and maker activities, and is particularly interested in how technology can intersect with diversity, equity, and inclusion. She graduated from Louisiana State University with her MLIS in 2016, and has worked in public libraries, art museums, and archives.

“I’m very honored and excited to be selected as an 91´«Ã½ emerging leader with sponsorship from LITA, and I’m looking forward to working with my fellow participants in the field of libraries and technology,” said Murdock.

enables newer library workers to participate in problem-solving work groups, network with peers, gain an inside look into 91´«Ã½ structure, and have an opportunity to serve the profession in a leadership capacity. Following a kickoff session that includes orientation and training, the program will continue in an online learning and networking environment for six months, culminating in a presentation of the groups' work at the 2019 91´«Ã½ Annual Conference. LITA is sponsoring two Emerging Leaders for 2019 thanks to donations from LITA members and supporters.
