New workshop: Taking STEAM Programs to the Next Level

CHICAGO—91´«Ã½ Publishing eLearning Solutions announces an exciting new workshop, with Amy Holcomb. This workshop will last 90 minutes and take place at 2:30pm Eastern/1:30 Central/12:30 Mountain/11:30am Pacific on Thursday, January 17, 2019.
In this new 90-minute workshop, learn how to move beyond surface level programming and provide more engaging and meaningful experiences for youth around STEAM topics. Experiential Learning Supervisor Amy Holcomb teaches you inquiry-based learning techniques, provides you with specific programming ideas for varying age groups, and shares the best STEAM resources to use in your programming.
This workshop teaches you how to provide relevant, developmentally-appropriate, and interest-driven STEAM learning opportunities for youth in grades K-8. You’ll learn how to modify programming models to present a deeper dive into STEAM topics without needing to be an expert.
About the Instructor
Amy Holcomb is the Experiential Learning Supervisor at Skokie (IL) Public Library, where she manages the BOOMbox, a STEAM learning space, and the youth lab, a computer and content creation space. She entered libraries through a series of fortunate events while an undergraduate studying chemistry. She loves applying her science background in programming opportunities and really loves how learning and sharing knowledge are essential parts of her job. Holcomb has been developing and facilitating STEAM learning experiences for youth in grades K-8 for eight years and shares many of her experiences on the STAR_Net blog.
