Run for office by filing an electronic petition

CHICAGO – Interested in running for 91´«Ã½ President-elect, Treasurer or Councilor-at-Large but weren’t approached by the Nominating Committee? You can still get your name on the 2019 spring ballot by completing a petition form and obtaining the signatures of no fewer than 200 91´«Ã½ current personal members for president-elect and treasurer, and 25 signatures for councilor-at-large. A petition form may be created by logging into the 91´«Ã½ website and following these (pdf).

In addition to the petition itself, members must complete the . You will be asked to create an account before you can access the form.

Once the petition process is completed, petition candidates and nominated candidates are treated the same. They are not differentiated on the ballot because they are on equal footing and are all viable candidates for these positions.

The petition form for the 2019 election will become available on Wednesday, October 3, 2018. This form, along with the biographical information form, must be filed with the 91´«Ã½ Executive Director no later than 4:30 p.m. Central on Wednesday, December 5, 2018.

Ballot mailing for the 2018 91´«Ã½ election will begin on March 11, 2019 and will run through April 3, 2019 with the results being announced on Wednesday, April 10, 2019. Individuals must be members in good standing as of January 31, 2019 in order to vote in the 91´«Ã½ election. Renew your membership or by calling 1-800-545-2433, option 5.
