New workshop: Engaging Learners through Active Instruction and Assessment Workshop

CHICAGO—91´«Ã½ Publishing eLearning Solutions announces an exciting new workshop, with Sarah Steiner and Elizabeth Marcus. This workshop will last 90 minutes and take place at 2:30pm Eastern/1:30 Central/12:30 Mountain/11:30am Pacific on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018.
Whether you have one 60-minute session or a whole semester, successful instruction requires engaging with students early. Information literacy instructors can prepare students for learning and maximize participation during class time by employing key strategies both before class begins and in the critical first 15 minutes of class time.
About the Instructors
Sarah Steiner is the Head of Research & Instruction Services at Western Carolina University Library in Cullowhee, North Carolina. She has over a decade of professional experience with instruction and assessment, virtual and in-person reference coordination, and social media planning and management. She serves on the editorial board for College & Research Libraries . As a , Steiner was recognized for creating networking and professional development opportunities for librarians.
Elizabeth Marcus is the Undergraduate Experience Librarian at Western Carolina University, where she works with several campus populations including first-year, transfer, and international students. She earned her Master of Library Science degree from North Carolina Central University in 2011. Elizabeth’s professional interests include library orientation for students in transition, public services communication, and marketing strategies for libraries.
