ASGCLA's Announces New Mentoring Program

91´«Ã½

Nearly two years in the planning, ASGCLA’s new division-wide Mentoring Program launched at 91´«Ã½ Annual 2018 in New Orleans.

ASGCLA’s Membership Promotion Committee, who developed the program and created its documentation and processes, accepted the first set of applications in early 2018. Based on mutual professional interests and areas of work or study, the committee matched seven pairs of mentors and mentees for a yearlong, one-on-one partnership.

The fourteen mentors and mentees met during 91´«Ã½ Annual for a program orientation, followed by a welcome luncheon with ASGCLA leadership. Each partnership began by setting goals and expectations for their regular meetings, conducted when and how the pair sees fit. The mentor-mentee pairs will continue working together under this tailored program through May 2019.

Applications for the 2019-2020 Mentoring Program cycle will go live in late 2018. To serve as a mentor you must be a member of ASGCLA, but participation as a mentee is open to all 91´«Ã½ members.
