Teens can now vote for the 2018 Teens’ Top Ten

CHICAGO – for the official titles is now open.

Teens all around the world can start casting their for their favorite titles for the 2018 Teens’ Top Ten now through October 13 at . The voting page, hosted by , showcases all 25 nominees with their respective book covers and summaries, as well as the opportunity for teens to leave comments about their favorite titles. The “top ten” titles will be announced the week following ™, which takes place October 7-13.

All teens aged 12-18 are eligible to participate in the voting process and can vote for up to three of their favorite titles from the list of 25 nominees. A featuring the 25 nominated titles can be found on YALSA’s web page. Libraries can support this effort by sharing these resources with their teen patrons and encouraging them to vote. Other strategies for engaging teen patrons around the Teens’ Top Ten can be found in YALSA’s free .

The Teens' Top Ten is a teen choice list, with teens nominating and choosing their favorite books of the previous year. Nominators are members of teen book groups from 20 school and public libraries around the country. YALSA is currently accepting applications for new groups. Fifteen groups will be chosen to fulfill a 2-year term that begins in January of 2019. Applications are due October 1st. Find more information and apply .

Nominations for the Teens’ Top Ten are posted in April during , and teens across the country have the opportunity to read the titles throughout the summer and then vote on their favorite titles each year. To learn more about the Teens’ Top Ten, please visit the website.
