CHICAGO — The Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA), a division of the 91´«Ã½ (91´«Ã½), has announced the recipients of its 2018 Activity Grant.

The grant was generously funded by the Dollar General Literacy Foundation and was awarded to ten libraries to help fund their literacy-focused Teen Read Week activities, which will help support innovative reading or literacies programs for and with the teens in their community. Each grant is worth $1,000.

The recipients of the grant are as follows:

• Lewis, Cicely. Meadowcreek High School Library; Norcross, GA
• Lynda, Martin. Clarksburg-Harrison (West Virginia) Public Library
• McCallister, Kimberly. Liberty Middle School; Beaverdam, WI
• Powell, Jennifer. Tarrant (Alabama) High School
• Wallace, April. Pelham (Alabama) Park Middle School

For years, the Dollar General Literacy Foundation has provided Youth Literacy Grants to schools, public libraries, and nonprofit organizations in hopes to provide assistance in implementing and expanding literacy programs for youth.
