New session: Making Your Library Work for Homeschoolers Workshop

CHICAGO—91´«Ã½ Publishing eLearning Solutions announces a new session of our popular workshop, with Suzanne Walker. This workshop will last 90 minutes and take place at 2:30pm Eastern/1:30 Central/12:30 Mountain/11:30am Pacific on Thursday, August 2, 2018.

The number of homeschoolers in the nation is steadily increasing each year. Families who homeschool are often heavy library users. In this workshop, you will be provided with an overview of services, programming, and collection development to support homeschoolers in your community. You’ll learn about tools and resources that you need to reach this group of patrons and will come away from this workshop feeling ready to serve your homeschooling communities.

About the Instructor

Suzanne Walker is currently the Supervisor of the Professional Development Office at the Indiana State Library and the Director of the Indiana Center for the Book. She has also served as the Children’s Consultant at the Indiana State Library. Previous to her time at the Indiana State Library, she was the Director of Youth Services at the Mooresville Public Library, where she worked with homeschoolers for five years. Suzanne has guest blogged for the Association for Library Services to Children. She is a Fellow of the 2015 PLA Leadership Academy.
