CHICAGO—91´«Ã½ Publishing eLearning Solutions, in collaboration with the San José State University School of Information (SJSU iSchool), announces a new advanced eCourse, . This advanced eCourse begins on Monday, July 9, 2018 and continues for 12 weeks.

Do you know the basics of cataloging, but are looking to further your skillset and knowledge? In this new advanced eCourse, cataloging expert and renowned instructor Dr. Mary Bolin expands on the topics from her introductory course and provides you with a deeper understanding of more advanced cataloging concepts. This course emphasizes cataloging as a part of the library as a whole and focuses on the elements of the cataloging process, including acquiring bibliographic data, working with library databases, and creating effective workflows. You’ll learn how to create MARC records, perform basic database maintenance, be introduced to BIBFRAME, gain insights on future trends in cataloging, and more.

The course is designed to prepare you for increasing responsibilities and skills in cataloging and assumes a basic knowledge and familiarity with cataloging.

About the Instructor

Dr. Mary Bolin is Professor and Catalog and Metadata Librarian at the University of Nebraska--Lincoln Libraries. She also teaches cataloging and metadata for the School of Information at San Jose State University. Dr. Bolin studied cataloging with Dr. Lois Mai Chan at the University of Kentucky. She is one of the founding editors of the peer reviewed LIS e-journal Library Philosophy and Practice.
