New workshop: Transforming the Library with User Experience

CHICAGO—91´«Ã½ Publishing eLearning Solutions announces an exciting new workshop, with Amy Deschenes. This workshop will last 90 minutes and take place at 2:30pm Eastern/1:30 Central/12:30 Mountain/11:30am Pacific on Wed., May 2, 2018.
User experience (UX) design incorporates the practical aspects of utility, ease of use, and efficiency to make your web design and functionality decisions with patrons in mind. This results in a better design, a more intuitive interface, and a more enjoyable experience.
In this new workshop, UX expert Amy Deschenes teaches you the fundamentals of UX research and how it can benefit your patrons. Deschenes shows you how user research can help you make data-driven decisions and prioritize initiatives.
You will learn foundational knowledge about how to make websites and apps more user-friendly and how to incorporate these techniques into your organization. You will also hear examples of how libraries of all kinds have used UX research to improve their services and sites. Finally, you’ll be provided with several quick-hit research methods that you can implement immediately to learn about your own user populations.
About the Instructor
Amy Deschenes is the Senior User Experience Consultant at Harvard Library. She has taught numerous workshops on usability testing, web design, and accessibility. Her work focuses on conducting user experience research with students, researchers, and faculty members to better understand user needs related to library services.
