New iteration—Creating Early Literacy Programs: Connecting with Early Childhood Development eCourse

Chicago—91´«Ã½ Publishing eLearning Solutions announces a new iteration of our popular eCourse, . R. Lynn Baker will serve as the instructor for a 4-week facilitated eCourse starting on Monday, February 26, 2018.

If you perform and develop programming for preschool children and families, knowing the basics of early literacy training will help you create a school readiness program that will best prepare children for a successful transition into kindergarten. Early care expert and education trainer R. Lynn Baker's successful approach to school readiness programming connects school readiness indicators and early childhood standards with early literacy best practices. In this four-week eCourse, Baker will guide you through the ins and outs of developing early childhood programs through discussion boards, pre/post-tests, assignments, and readings. You’ll walk away with tools for connecting developmentally appropriate principles of early childhood development with the early literacy skills/best practices of Every Child Ready to Read® (ECRR) 1 and 2.

This eCourse will also provide professional programming knowledge to those seeking professional development opportunities for certification/recertification hours.*

About the Instructor

R. Lynn Baker is a conference speaker and advocate for early childhood education, early literacy/school readiness programs, and public libraries. As a former preschool and kindergarten teacher, she holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education and a minor in Special Education. Lynn received her MLIS from San Jose State University, and holds a professional librarian certification from the Kentucky State Board for the Certification of Librarians. She has developed school readiness programs and curricula for public libraries, early care and education providers, preschool children, families, and communities. Lynn is a Youth Services Librarian and Chair of the READiness Matters school readiness public library initiative in the state of Kentucky. Lynn is the author of Counting Down to Kindergarten: A Complete Guide for Creating a School Readiness Program for Your Community, published by 91´«Ã½ in 2015.
