Anonymous donor to match up to $100,000 of 91´«Ã½ Annual Fund contributions

91´«Ã½

CHICAGO – As the season for gift giving is in full swing, the 91´«Ã½ (91´«Ã½) has an exciting opportunity! An anonymous donor is matching gifts made to the 91´«Ã½ Annual Fund as of Nov. 1, 2017. Donations are tax-deductible and gifts from an individual donor, up to $1,000, are eligible. The match caps at $10,000 total per 91´«Ã½ unit, and $100,000 overall. Donors can participate by giving online at ala.org/donate or sending a check to 91´«Ã½, 50 East Huron, Chicago, IL 60611.

91´«Ã½ asks its members, library advocates and the public to consider making a gift to help support its efforts to build a world where libraries of all types are central to transforming lives through education and lifelong learning. By giving to 91´«Ã½, donors are assisting with efforts to enhance library programs, services and free access to information by strengthening resources for the profession.

“Our nation’s librarians and library workers play such a critical role in leading efforts to empower individuals to better their lives through education,” said 91´«Ã½ President Jim Neal. “Any means of support, providing a financial contribution, and/or serving as an 91´«Ã½ Annual Fund Ambassador, are welcome and greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance to those that join in our efforts to help enhance information services and the profession of librarianship.”

Library supporters can make a difference by actively sharing why they’re supporting 91´«Ã½'s year-end giving campaign and encouraging others to donate via social media using our official giving campaign hashtags #Give91´«Ã½ and #GivingTuesday. Donors can visit to contribute and to learn about how to become an 91´«Ã½ Annual Fund Ambassador.

A unit is defined as 91´«Ã½ itself (which constitutes one unit) or an 91´«Ã½ division, office, or round table. Specific programs, funds and scholarships align with individual units and therefore donations to those options count toward the total for the sponsoring unit. Donations to the Freedom to Read Foundation and the 91´«Ã½ – APA are not eligible for matching funds.
