Get ready to celebrate International Games Week 2017 – October 29 – November 4, 2017
91´«Ã½
Due to ever-increasing demand, International Games Day became in 2017! This week-long event is now more flexible and supports gaming across the spectrum of libraries. This year’s event will take place during the week of October 29th through November 4th. This annual tradition is an initiative run by volunteers from around the world and hosted by the 91´«Ã½’s Games and Gaming Round Table (GameRT), in collaboration with Nordic Game Day, Australian Library and Information Association, and L’Associazione Italiana Biblioteche! Each year libraries are encouraged to participate by creating fun, educational and innovative programs encouraging gaming in their communities, in order to reconnect those communities around the educational, recreational and social value of all types of games.
Each year our donors add to our success with their generous donations. This year our donors are Cheap Ass Games, Paizo, Vested Interest Games, One Play, Roman Uhlig, Looney Labs, Chess in Schools and Communities, BoxHead Craft, and Stuff by Bez. These donations are invaluable to libraries beginning and expanding their game collections. To find your closest library participating in IGW, check the on our website. If your local library isn't a participant, we have suggestions for ways can get involved or start your local participation.
