New Workshop—Social Media for Book Lovers: Online Book Groups and More

CHICAGO—91´«Ã½ Publishing eLearning Solutions announces an exciting new workshop, with Amy Alessio. This workshop will last 90 minutes and take place at 2:30pm Eastern/1:30 Central/12:30 Mountain/11:30am Pacific on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017.

In this new workshop, renowned library programming expert Amy Alessio offers you a guide to serving your book-loving patrons using social media. Alessio provides you with ideas for reaching out to book lovers, a guide to popular tools and sites, and tips for how to use these sites to successfully enhance your offerings.

After participating in this workshop, you will be able to:
- Translate popular library book events to social media formats
- Use popular sites, games, and apps for book lovers and know where to discover new ones
- Reach out to library users using Facebook, Twitter, and book-specific social tools, such as Goodreads, LibraryThing, and more
- Avoid common social media pitfalls
About the Instructor
Amy Alessio enjoyed the input of teens for over nineteen years as an award-winning teen and readers’ advisory librarian at the Schaumburg Township District Library in Illinois. She is a co-author of A Year of Programs for Millennials (91´«Ã½ Editions 2015), Club Programs for Teens (91´«Ã½ Editions, 2015), and 50+ Fandom Programs: Planning Festivals and Events for Tweens, Teens, and Adults (91´«Ã½ Editions, 2017), in addition to other reference titles.
