ESLS call for proposals and papers

CHICAGO – The Educators of School Librarians Section (ESLS) of the American Association of School Librarians (AASL) invites submissions for proposals for papers on original research focusing on school library practice or school librarianship. Selected papers will be presented in a concurrent session at the AASL National Conference & Exhibition to be held from Nov. 9-11, 2017, in Phoenix, Arizona. In addition, the selected papers will be automatically considered for publication in School Library Research (SLR) (pending the journal's peer review process).
The national conference session will focus on research interpretations of the conference theme, “Beyond the Horizon.” More information about the AASL national conference can be found at .
Submissions may include, but are not limited to, the following themes:

Content Learning Integrated with Digital Literacy Skills

Integration of School Library Standards and Academic Standards

Inquiry Learning in the Age of Academic Standards

School Librarians as Managers of Today’s School Libraries
Proposals for papers which report preliminary findings on research in progress should be submitted no later than 11:59 EST on Friday, August, 11, 2017. The proposals should be within a 1,500 word limit using APA style and submitted in electronic form to Lucy Santos Green at lucysantosgreen@gmail.com. The authors of the three selected proposals will be contacted by Monday, August 28, 2017. The authors will then be required to submit the full 5,000 word paper by Monday, October 9, 2017.
