Author Elizabeth White to Present in 91´«Ã½ JobLIST Placement & Career Development Center

The 91´«Ã½ JobLIST Placement & Career Development Center will host author Elizabeth White on Sunday, June 25, 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. during the 91´«Ã½ Annual Conference in Chicago. Elizabeth White, author of Fifty-five, Unemployed, and Faking Normal, will discuss the hidden financial plight of many baby boomers and the pressure to act like everything's OK when everything is not OK.
Elizabeth White is an entrepreneur, author, aging solutions advocate, and seasoned non-profit executive with domestic and international expertise in economic development and gender empowerment.
White was interviewed recently on PBS NewsHour and her story/articles have appeared in Next Avenue, Forbes, The Huffington Post, Christian Science Monitor, and The Washington Post.
Ms. White currently serves as Special Advisor to the Interim Executive Director at Senior Service America (SSA). Before joining SSA, she was the Chief Operating Officer of a mid-size NGO focused on improving the quality of life in Africa, where she managed 1,200 staff via 7 direct reports and operations in 18 African countries. Ms. White also serves as an adjunct professor in the workforce development program at the University of the District of Columbia, and has taught entrepreneurship at Trinity College.
Ms. White was Senior Diversity Advisor to the CEO of the Calvert Group, a socially-responsible investment firm based in Washington, DC. There she co-authored the Calvert Women’s Principles which formed the basis of the United Nation’s Women’s Empowerment Principles, the first global code of conduct for corporations focused exclusively on empowering and advancing women in the workplace.
Ms. White earned an MBA from Harvard University, a MA in International Studies from Johns Hopkins University, and a BS in Political Science from Oberlin College. She began her career in international development at the World Bank where she was recruited through the bank’s highly prestigious Young Professionals program.
