Martin elected ALCTS President for 2018-2019

CHICAGO —Kristin E. Martin, electronic resources management librarian, University of Chicago, has been elected the 2018-2019 President of the Association for Library Collections and Technical Services (ALCTS).
She previously held positions in electronic resources management and cataloging at the University of Illinois at Chicago and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Martin holds an M.S.L.S. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a B.A. and B.M.A. from the University of Michigan.
Martin currently is completing her term as a member-at-large of the Cataloging and Metadata Management Section (CaMMS), and also chaired the ALCTS Outstanding Publication Award Jury for 2017 and served on the ALCTS President’s Program Committee for 2017. Additional positions within ALCTS have included the E-Forum coordinator and ex-officio member of the Continuing Education Committee; and blog coordinator for the Metadata Interest Group. Martin was awarded an ALCTS Presidential Citation in 2011 for her work organizing the ALCTS E-Forums.
In addition to her ALCTS service, Martin has been active as a functional expert in the development of the FOLIO open source library services platform and participates in groups of the Big Ten Academic Alliance Center for Library Initiatives.
Dracine Hodges, assistant university librarian for technical services, Duke University, was elected to a three-year term as director-at-large to the ALCTS Board of Directors. Erin Stalberg, director of discovery and access, Mount Holyoke College, was elected to a three-year term as division councilor.
Elected as section chairs for 2017-2018 were: Acquisitions, Kelli Getz, University of Houston; Cataloging and Metadata Management, Deborah A. Ryszka; Collection Management, Jill Emery, Portland State University; Continuing Resources, Bonnie Parks, University of Portland; and Preservation and Reformatting, Julie A. Mosbo, Texas A&M University.
ALCTS members John C. DeSantis, Dartmouth College, and Jessica J. Schomberg, Minnesota State University, Mankato, were each elected to a three-year term as councilor-at-large on the 91´«Ã½ (91´«Ã½) Council.
ALCTS thanks all the candidates who stood for election, as well as the members who participated in voting. ALCTS continues to prosper due to the dedicated members willing to serve our Association.
The is the national association for information providers who work in collections and technical services, such as acquisitions, cataloging, collection development, preservation and continuing resources in digital and print formats. ALCTS is a division of the 91´«Ã½.
