Erin Cavell named 2017 winner of Morningstar Public Librarian Support Award

CHICAGO--Erin Cavell, Small Business Librarian at , Hennepin County Library has been selected as the 2017 , administered by the Business Reference and Services Section (BRASS) of RUSA.

Cavell was selected for “proactive approach to establishing multiple partnerships within the Minneapolis and business and nonprofit community,” said Ed Rossman, award committee chair. “Other library programs and services have been grown through her sustained efforts to assist the Minneapolis/Hennepin County small business development community.”

Her ambitious spirit contributed to the success of an Entrepreneur Expo in 2016, that included workshops, a panel discussion, and government, nonprofit, and financial small business development exhibitors which drew over 180 attendees, panelists and exhibitors.

The award, sponsored by , consists of $1,250 that will support attendance to the in June.

The BRASS Morningstar Public Librarian Support Award selection committee includes: Edmund A. Rossman, III (Chair), Kelly Jeanne Evans, Cynthia H. Slater, Janet Tom, and Terry Zarsky.

The RUSA Achievement Awards Ceremony and Reception will be held from 5-6:30 p.m. Sunday, June 25 at the 91´«Ã½ Annual Conference in Chicago. All conference attendees are invited to the event. Additional event details will be available on the in April.
