Emerging practices in digital scholarship

CHICAGO — Spanning a wide range of contrasting perspectives, contexts, insights, and case studies, “,” published by 91ý Neal-Schuman, explores the relationships between digital scholarship, contemporary academic libraries, and professional practice. Editors Alison Mackenzie and Lindsey Martin, alongside a raft of expert contributors, demonstrate that there are opportunities to be bold, remodel, try new approaches, and reposition the library as a key partner in the process of digital scholarship. Topics include:
- the impact of digital scholarship on organizational strategies;
- developing digital capable librarians;
- social networking with the scholarly community;

Mackenzie is the Dean of Learning Services at Edge Hill University, UK. She has been active in SCONUL for a number of years, as a member and Chair of the Working Group on Information Literacy and as a contributor to the e-learning task-and-finish group. She is currently Chair of the Performance Measurement and Quality strategy group. Martin is the Assistant Head of learning Services at Edge Hill University, UK, responsible for the learning technologies managed and supported by Learning Services. She has overall responsibility for the virtual learning environment and its associated systems, media development, classroom AV and ICT support and ICT staff development. She is a member of the editorial board for the SCONUL Focus journal and secretary of the Heads of eLearning Forum Steering group (HeLF).
