Hammill named winner of Reference Services Section's Service Achievement Award

CHICAGO— Sarah J. Hammill, business and online learning librarian at Florida International University, was selected as the 2016 winner of the RSS Service Achievement Award. The award recognizes a member that has made exceptional contributions to RUSA’s Reference Services Section.
Hammill has been involved with RSS long before it was named RSS. “In 2002, Sarah started as an intern to the Research & Statistics Committee for RUSA/MOUSS and worked her way up to chair in 2005. Since then, she has served in nearly all parts of RSS for over 10 years of continuous service,” said Ava Brillat, RSS member. “Sarah has been an unsung hero and advocate for RSS. Not only does she know nearly everyone involved, she has brought together librarians to promote cohesion and communication.”
The RUSA Achievement Awards Ceremony and Reception will be held from 5-6:30 p.m. Sunday, June 26 at the 91´«Ã½ Annual Conference in Orlando. All conference attendees are invited to the event. Additional event details will be available on the in April.
