CHICAGO – Best-selling author, television host and library advocater will join thousands of library preservation experts to safeguard digital photos and recordings during , April 24 – 30, 2016. Meltzer joins the campaign for another year as honorary chair of Preservation Week®, a time when libraries throughout the country provide information and expertise on how to archive and preserve individual and institutional treasures.

Libraries are not just about what they offer patrons, but rather they do for and with people. This year’s Preservation Week® theme is “Pass it on,” and participating libraries will celebrate by offering special programs and services that will help connect library users with preservation tools, promote the importance of preservation and strive to enhance knowledge of preservation issues among the general public.

“Libraries changed my life and preservation is vital to me,” said Meltzer. “I'm honored to be doing this for another year. Just don't tell them that I want this job for life.”
